Ryszard Rasiński holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science (with minor in Linguistics) from University of Maryland (USA). After graduation he was offered a position of Teaching Assistant at the Institute of English Studies of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. From 1988 on he has been Lecturer at the Institute of English, University of Łódź. His areas of interest include generative grammar, contrastive grammar and methodology of linguistics. Secretary of two biennial scientific conferences Methodologies of Linguistics (from 2004) and PhiLang-Philosophy of Language and Linguistics (from 2009). He has been also involved in activities accompanying development of the European Higher Education Area. Coordinator of EU project Introducing ECTS to Humanities (1996-1997) and Institutional ECTS Coordinator (1997-2005) at University of Łódź. Member of the National Team of Bologna Experts affiliated with Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE). Author of analytic and expert texts on implementation of ECTS, Diploma Supplement, and mobility of students and academic staff.
