Posted below are three final group projects written for Dr. Krzysztof Majer’s workshop class “Culture and Media: Music Videos and Post-Horror Cinema” (MA 1, summer semester, 2022). The goal was to offer an analysis of a music video based on Carol Vernallis’ theoretical framework from her study Experiencing Music Video: Aesthetics and Cultural Context (Columbia University Press, 2004) or to analyse an example of the cinematic genre recently theorised in David Church’s Post-Horror: Art, Genre, and Cultural Elevation (Edinburgh University Press, 2021). The resulting analyses dealt with Joseph Kahn’s video for Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” (2017),  Jordan Peele’s Get Out (2017) and Ari Aster’s Midsommar (2019).
